Terms of Service

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of LucidOpus ("LucidOpus," "we," "us," or "our") at https://lucidopus.ai (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. The Service

LucidOpus is an evidence-based job matching product for software engineers. It parses your resume, optionally connects to your GitHub account, generates an AI skill report, and ranks real job postings against your evidence with cited reasons. The Service is in active development and may change, pause, or discontinue features at any time.

3. Eligibility and accounts

• You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.
• You must provide accurate information when creating your account and profile.
• You are responsible for everything that happens under your account and for keeping your sign-in credentials secure.
• One account per person; accounts are not transferable.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Upload resumes, files, or information you do not have the right to share
• Provide false or misleading profile information
• Scrape, crawl, or bulk-extract job postings, matches, or other data from the Service
• Attempt to probe, disrupt, or reverse engineer the Service or its infrastructure
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or to harass, defame, or spam others
• Misuse the feedback board (no illegal, hateful, or promotional content)

5. Your content

You retain ownership of everything you upload or provide — your resume, profile information, GitHub data, and feedback. You grant LucidOpus a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, process, and transmit that content solely to operate and improve the Service for you (for example, parsing your resume or generating your matches). You represent that you have the rights necessary to share the content you provide.

6. AI-generated content

Skill reports, match rankings, and per-requirement verdicts are generated by AI models from your data and public job postings. They may be incomplete, outdated, or wrong. They are provided for informational purposes only and are not career, legal, or employment advice, and not a guarantee of interviews, offers, or hiring outcomes. Always verify details against the employer's own job posting before applying or making decisions.

7. Third-party job postings

Job listings shown in the Service are aggregated from public company job boards. We do not control, endorse, or employ the companies listed, and we do not guarantee that a posting is accurate, current, or still open. Applications are completed on the employer's own site, which is governed by that employer's terms and privacy policy, not ours.

8. Feedback

If you post ideas, requests, or comments on the feedback board, you grant us the right to use that feedback to improve the Service without restriction or compensation.

9. Intellectual property

The Service, including the LucidOpus name, logo, design, and software, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our branding or to copy substantial parts of the Service.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any job match or report will be accurate.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, LucidOpus will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or lost employment opportunities, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us to use the Service in the twelve months before the claim (or, if you paid nothing, one hundred U.S. dollars).

12. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms or to protect the Service or other users. Sections that by their nature should survive (including Your content, Disclaimers, Limitation of liability, and Governing law) survive termination.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the "Last updated" date. If you continue to use the Service after changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service will be brought in the state or federal courts located in California, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
